In other film related news, we plan on locking picture this Friday, August 13. Spooky, huh? We can only hope that when Howard's ghost confronts us this Friday (and he will) that he meets our film with praise and approval. In all seriousness, we will be making the submission deadline for Sundance this year, and we look forward to many more updates to come as this picture gets closer and closer to completion.

Rusty Burke, one of our undeniable leads in the film, paid us a great honor by giving the film a mention on the official Robert E. Howard forum. We're hoping that this blurb will help attract more viewers that are familiar with the subject matter already.

We're incredibly grateful to Rusty and the whole REHUPA/Project Pride gang for their continued support as we finish the film. Without these dedicated scholars, historians and fans, we wouldn't have even had a documentary to shoot! So from all of us to all of you, thank you again!

What a long strange trip it's been...

Greetings again from the gang here at Goodspeed Productions. We realize it's been forever (quite frankly, we just wanted this domain name before someone else nabbed it when we finally got around to doing press for the film), and we hope that we'll increase traffic on the site in the coming days, weeks and months.

Since we last left our heroes, the film has wrapped and is now in post production. We'll be seeing our second cut of the film next week, coming from the skilled work of editor and craftsman, Alex MacKenzie.

We've also developed some artwork for the film (as featured above) in addition to setting up a twitter account and a facebook page.

So yes, we've been keeping busy! And assuming we stay on schedule, we'll be submitting to festivals later this year. So keep your fingers crossed, and hey- if you're feeling generous, why not donate to the cause? Who knows, it may be your donation that gets us in to Sundance!

This site is the official home of the Goodspeed Productions documentary film "Barbarian Days." Shot in June of 2008, we traveled to Howard's home town of Cross Plains, Texas to learn more about the prolific pulp novelist Robert E. Howard. What we found however, was a group of friendly fans (and fanatics) who showed us his world as he saw it, from the city he lived in down to his boyhood home.

Stay tuned for trailers, still photos from the shoot, and details about the film's release.
